Hi, My name is Elze.

I am a Dutch freelance illustrator creating childlike illustrations for adults. I relish awe and wonder and love to collaborate on projects that encourage a good giggle because you can never laugh too much. All I make starts with this quote in mind:

'We don't stop playing because we grow old,

we grow old because we stop playing.'

The quote is from George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright, critic, and political activist who lived in the first half of the 20th century. It is my all-time favourite and a guide through life, basically.

My art is bold, quirky, and playful in sparkling warm colours, jampacked with structures and details. Making animals, floral illustrations, and imaginative landscapes is what I love to do most.
